D: Stratosfear [iš šio albumo [tadream] fanų elektroninės konferencijos]

compared to the albums before (Ricochet, Rubycon), TD seem tocompose and play with 'economy' - there is so much nice silentspace between the notes, which makes the space sound and breathe. And - also in contrast to previous albums - they play somechord progressions.

I cannot really decide for a favourite track - maybe I'd say'The Big Sleep in Search of Hades' with that wonderfulbass and harpsichord arrangement, and '3 am.....'(ping ------ blop ------ ping ------blob)^ ^ ^| | |\ | /\ | /\ | /lots of beautiful space here!

and so many nice sound effects in the background. Really alandscape! And no muddy disgusting 'bridges' = glue sounds out ofboring sperical keyboard voices, whose purpose is just toavoid some nice silent space.

btw: Stratosfear was the very first TD album I spend money for.

ArminHi there. This was my second Tangerine Dream purchase back in 1986, afew weeks after getting Exit. The guy at the record store said that this was a quiet album. He wasright about that for sure. I think my favorite tracks are "The bigsleeper in Search of hades" A friend once commented "That sounds like ajazzed up title for highway to hell. I like the chord progression andthe flute improv, and the spacemusic middle is pretty cool too.My next favorite part of this recording is the piano part at the end, though the guitar improv on Encore ads something to it.

scott K. LawlorI seldom listen to Stratosfear. It seems to have captured a mood at a timevery well. I had forgotten the similarities between "The Big Sleep In SearchOf Hades" and the end of Encore. Looking at the cover I would call itbrilliant. I remember someone telling me of people levitating at thebeginning of 3 A.M. At The Border Of The Marsh From Okefenokee.

I guess this is Peter Baumann's last studio album with 'em. He providedcounterpoint even in silence. This is some of the only TD music I ever heardplay on prime time radio. Stratosfear seemed like such a change in directionafter Phaedra, Rubycon and even Ricochet. It also came out at the exact sametime as Macula Trancefer.

If you listen to it over and over it turns into Zeit.

"Och, oh. He's playing his horror movie music again!" That's what mygirfriend in 78 would say every time I put "Stratosfear" on -- I dumpedher of course :-)

My first TD purchase. Why? -- the name of course, and the cover. I hadno clue what to expect. I'll leave the descriptions to the others onthe list as my tail is still smoldering from my last posted opinions, but I liked the album from the very beginning and still like it -- 4AS.

CDEurope lists "Genre: symphonic" -- I think that pretty much sums itup.

I thought I'd pass on some thoughts regarding this landmarkalbum.

In its own way, this always strikes me as a large step forTD - a move away from the 'rambling', gurgling form ofPhaedra, Rubycon and Ricochet toward a more 'musical' form.We seem to be back to recognisable instruments again, fromthe opening strums of the title track to the surpriseappearance of the harmonica in 3am ...

In retrospect it's easy to take this as another small stepin greatness for TD, but I often wonder at the reaction ofthe die-hard fans of the day. There's no slow-changingwarblings here. It sounds a lot 'crisper' and appears tomove with more purpose than previous efforts.

I like this album a lot. The title track and InvisibleLimits are certainly favourites, and I believe they stand upas some of the best work TD ever produced.

A solid 4AS.

Richardo Tandy (ELO) klaviatūrų paletė buvo svarbi grupės garso sudedamoji dalis, ypač albumuose „A New World Record“, „Out of the Blue“, „Discovery“ ir „Time“.

Tai 10 balų sistema daug universalesnė nei 5. Be to, jau dabar aktyvumas yra mažokas, grįžus prie penkiabalės sistemos bus labai daug dainų, kurios gauna nulį. Iškritimas bus randomizuotas, o ne žmonių apspręstas.

Tai, kad tamsta nerandi už ką balsuot, dar nėra argumentas daryti visiems taikomas balsavimo taisykles. Be to, juk žinai, jog nebūtina balsuot už viską, gali duot 10, 9, 8, 7 ir 6, likusių penkių balų nebūtina paskirti.
