in India Govi studied to play mandolin, mandola cello, sitar, bouzouki, charango and the 8-string ukulele (the kind of guitar). There he met Deuter - a prominent musician, who is considered to be one of the founders of new age music. Deuter was so impressed by Govi's music, that he decided to be a producer for his debut album. And so, with the help of Deuter the first Govi's album named "Sky High" was released in 1988. This CD, having a rather simple design was released by a very young and little (at that time) Real Music company. Later on, after several years, Real Music became one of the most recognized recording companies, releasing new age music. CDs released by this company can conquer a heart of any music lover both by the music and design. Returning to "Sky High" , I should say that Deuter has not only produced this album, but he also performed flute and synthesizer pieces.

And here I'd like to distract your attention from dates and events, and tell you more about Govi's music. It is both very easy and rather difficult for me to make. You can ask me why, and you'll be quite right. From the first glance Govi's music is rather simple, though if one would listen more attentively, he could observe that this lightness is the lightness of a perfect guitarist. With this, the arrangements are complicated and saturated: here are many instruments, which are perfectly played by Govi, and very delicate electronic framing. All the compositions by Govi are unusually beautiful, his music is amazing us by the brilliant purity, transparency and clarity of melodical picture. But all the things which I have just told you are really not the most important. The most important things in Govi's music is difficult to describe. In this music are the taste, aroma of bliss and not-motivated celebration, celebration of the life itself, the moment which is right now and right here, where there are no past or future and is only a deepest enjoyment by life and acception of everything which exists. Behind this music is a silence from which harmony appears. Govi is just a conductor of this Divine, those things, that come as a voices of the higher, better world, which suddenly becomes so real! Govi's music is beyond time, it brings in our world aesthetics of the future.

Of course, all this is beautiful, but what about biography, discography - can impatiently ask somebody, who reads these lines. Well, this objection is rather fair, so let us continue our almost biographical story about life and creative work of Govi. The debut album has lighted a bright star in the sky of new age music, making Govi one of the most popular musicians in the world. Still, the continuation was not less impressive, moreover his creative work has more and more blossomed by amazing colors.
