Pradžioje, kai grojo "Eternally Missed" daina buvo vadinama kitaip: "Rusty One" , nes "zvimbiantis" žodis, Bellamy'is norėjo apibūdinti jį, kai grojo "Į sveikatą, Į sveikatą ... šiek tiek aprūdijęs šis vienas" (Rock Oz' Arènes 2002, pirmasis šios dainos gyvas pasirodymas). Stilistiškai, tai turi daugiau panašumo į epinę poemą, plačiaekraniame kine girdimas tonas iš "Black Holes and Revelations" , rodant didelį naudojimą sintezatoriumi ir besitraukiantis atgal vokalas. Daina yra prisikiriama prie neryškios muzikos, dėžės melodijų ir šnabždėjimo. Vėliau, yra gamyklos solo skleidimuisi, sektas trumpo instrumentinio gedimo rodymo, pianinas, didžiulė bosinė partija ir klaiki gitaros stiliaus "Invincible", anksčiau, negu Bellamy'io zvimbimas pastatys tai iki paskutinio choro su ,kada nors, didžiuliais būgnais.
