Yra vienas labai gražus angliškas žodis bizarre. Jis labai tinka apibūdinti šitai dainai. Po švelnios, kiek supopsėjusios baladės Pariah, progroku vis dar spinduliuojančio The Same Asylum as Before ir mano asmeninės favoritės, eksperimentinės Song of I, šitas kūrinys tokiame kontekste tikrai yra ekscentriškas. Grynaveislis pop, dėl kurio masės dabar putojasi.
Wilson'as teigė besididžiuojantis šia daina, nes išbandė kai ką visiškai nepažįstamo ir tai jam pavyko. Nežinau, ar šis albumas ir tokie Wilson'o eksperimentai turės pasisekimą ilgalaikėje perspektyvoje, bet fanai, atrodo širsta. Dar gerai, kad Wilson'as priėmė strategiškai korektišką sprendimą uždelsti Permanating paviešinimą, nes jei ji būtų pirmoji iš atskleistų paslapčių, situacija būtų daug rizikingesnė dabar.
Suprantu, kodėl prog'o fanai nepatenkinti popsu, čia praktiškai yra prigimtinė opozicija (nepaisant to, kad pilna pavyzdžių, kaip progrokeriai labai sėkmingai laikosi nuėję į popsą), bet aš turiu absoliučiai priešingą opiniją — Wilson'as kuria kažką, kas dar progresyviau už progroką ir man stebėti, kaip Wilson'as šiais metais visus, įskaitant mane, erzina, yra metų įvykis. Mano akyse iš esamų keturių dainų susiformuoja vieno nerealiausių, keisčiausių albumų įvaizdis, kuris pramuša tiek dugną, tiek dangų.
Ir netgi jei "Permanating" yra grynaveislė pop daina, tai Wilson'as ją padarė labai malonią klausytis ir tai yra net geriau nei gerai. Man tai patinka, iš manęs 10 ir ne mažiau. Ir tai tik dar labiau skatina laukti tikriausiai šių metų svarbiausio albumo man asmeniškai.
