At this point in the story, the protagonist has accepted his sentence and now lives in a prison cell. This was depicted in the music video for Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife). He is alone with his guilt and dark thoughts, except that he receives regular visits from the “angel of afterlife,” who he does not realize is the ghost of Jolee. She sings with him and soothes him and provides some peace in his otherwise miserable existence.
