In the reality I face everyday sincerity doesn't exist. Everyone's just too special to be sincere. Everyone's on their own. All they want is to satisfy their desires. Feel comfortable. Nothing more, nothing less. Friendship's just another form of consumerism. It's all about hearing something new, something interesting, something fun, satisfying curiosity. Using it for your own advantage. Making yourself look more interesting by stealing someone's else story. Look me in the eyes and think about yourself. Do you sound smart? Interesting? Funny? Did you prove yourself? "Saw that? I see it everyday", "Been there? Been there too and even there and there", "Something's wrong? Oh, for me even worse", "Unhappy? Well, I'm unhappier (or I know someone who is)". It's all fast and easy, it's all good. It's mechanical and shallow. Well, does it matter? We're on our own anyway, right? Living for yourself is good. So you once said, so it appears to be. I play along becoming the same. Help me break through.. |
